I have been “under the weather” for the past couple of days;  kind of like a giant holiday hangover.  I’ve been holed up in our little house in the woods in cozy flannel PJ’s watching movies and fantasy shopping on line.  I just couldn’t stay in bed today, but just couldn’t get out of my PJ’s.  I needed an activity so I decided to string popcorn for the little birdies to eat off the Christmas tree that now sits out in the yard.  My ADHD reared it’s fickle head about a foot of stringed popcorn into my project.  I ended up heating up some butter and eating the rest of the popcorn while I did a little Pottery Barn fantasy shopping.

Now what………….drumming fingers on the table while arching an eyebrow in thought.

I think I’ll cook.  A chopping I will go…onions, garlic………ground beef, beans……..the next thing I know there is a giant 7 quart pot of chili simmering on the stove.  Now what about a little something sweet to go along with that?  Hmmmm………. These are chocolate fondants topped with little meringues with an ice cream center.  I just caramelize the outside with a little butane torch.  The sauce is a raspberry sauce made from my very own raspberry bushes.  Picked in the halcyon days of summer.  Being that I lived in New York City this is still a bit of a novelty to me.

This is just a glimpse of what we  photographers do in our “down time”.  Stay tuned however, I have a wee baby session to post on Friday.
