Kitties and Their Hobbies

Published by Posted by Verna at 2:31 pm under Personal Projects

Just before Christmas, 3 days to be exact, we had 2 new windows installed in our little house in the woods.  We moved from the city where we had a sidewalk out to the country, where we live on a dirt road,  6.5 years ago.  We fell in love with the property and then noticed that the house was a 1968 rambler with those ridiculous windows that I had to stand on tip toes to see out of:

There’s a pond right outside the window.  Don’t get me started on the hideous wallpaper.  When I am in bed I can’t see it, and it’s coming down because we’ve got this brand new window that the kitties think is their very own Christmas present complete with a bird feeder that attaches to the window with giant suction cups:

Here’s what it looks like in the window almost all the time now:

They wait for pretty nuthatches:

And Hairy Woodpeckers:

And they scare the crap out of these poor birds.

This chickadee is staring right at them!

Quick get away!

It’s all good fun for them.  I just hope it’s not bad for the birds.

PS- you should show these to Wild Birds Unlimited- what a great ad compaign that would be! I’ll tell you this- I’m going to go get a bird feeder just because of these pictures!
