Having just spent 5 days on an island I am as relaxed as I have ever been in the midst of a busy wedding season.   In an effort to stay fresh and keep my personal batteries charged I have planned a number of little island getaways this wedding season.   So far I am delighted with my plan.  I attended a photography workshop at Stout’s Island Lodge in Wisconsin.  The workshop was put on by The College of Visual Arts in Saint Paul, MN and taught by Steve Stenzel who is a gifted photographer and educator.

It was a fine time for me to devote to making images that were out of my normal range of  practice and I tried to spend my time looking at lines and forms and colors.  I found it to be contemplative and richly rewarding.  Here are a few of the images I made.  Enjoy!

Paul and I headed to Reynosa Mexico in March on a mission trip to walk beside the blessed people of this border town.  We love these faithful people and the ways that our hearts are softened by their joy in the face of much poverty and adversity.
